The whole world is short of energy. Saving the energy is very important. As a student, we can do a lot in our daily life.

For example, we should keep the light off when we don’t use it. We should take a shower instead of bath to save water. Don’t keep the tap running when you wash your face or brush your teeth. When we go shopping, we can take cloth bags instead of using plastic bags. Many people write on only one side of their paper. Why not try using both? 3 Positive Energy

Life needs positive energy. A person’s life is a road with lots of difficulties and various negative emotions. Everyone will have the desperate time. Positive energy can help us go through this period of time. For example I am sad about the exam yesterday. But an optimistic classmate encourages me to think in a good way and comfort me. I can recover soon. But if she also is as pessimistic as me I won’t have recovered so quickly. Maybe I will be sad for a long time.

There are many similar things happening in our life. To live a better life we need positive energy.

4The Source of Energy

A summary of the physical and chemical nature of life must begin, not on the Earth, but in the Sun; in fact, at the Sun's very center. It is here that is to be found the source of the energy that the Sun constantly pours out into space as light and heat. 

This energy is liberated at the center of the Sun as billions upon billions of nuclei of hydrogen atoms collide with each other and fuse together to form nuclei of helium, and in doing so, release some of the energy that is stored in the nuclei of atoms. The output of light and heat of the Sun requires that some 600 million tons of hydrogen be converted into helium in the Sun every second. This the Sun has been doing for several thousands of millions of years.The nuclear energy is released at the Sun's center as high-energy gamma radiation, a form of electromagnetic radiation like light and radio waves, only of very much shorter wavelength. This gamma radiation is absorbed by atoms inside the Sun to be reemitted at slightly longer wavelengths.This radiation, in its turn is absorbed and reemitted. As the energy filters through the layers of the solar interior, it passes through the X-ray part of the spectrum eventually becoming light. 

At this stage, it has reached what we call the solar surface, and can escape into space without being absorbed further by solar atoms. A very small fraction of the Sun's light and heat is emitted in such directions that after passing unhindered through interplanetary space, it hits the Earth.

5Energy Resonrces

China is rich in various energy resources. Coal and petroleum, for instance, are two major trees. They ave essential in developing the country's industry, ,science and technology. China has done a great deal in the past few decades to raise the output of coal and petroleum.

These energy resources are being used up rapidly, however. With the building of four modernizations, new industrial and science projects axe springing up like bam booshoots after a spring rain. They are all enormous consumers of energy resources. Be sides, there has been great waste in using these resources.

To avoid energy crisis in the future, the government must take measures. First, it should let the people know, through education, the importance of ,saving energy. Sec ond, efforts should be made in opening up new energy resources, such as solar energy, geothermal energy and so on. We have reasons to be optimistic in this respect.

6On Energy Shortage

With the fast development of economy and society many problems have been appeared and caused some negative impacts on our lives. Energy shortage is one of the most serious problems in the world.  

Many reasons can account for energy shortage. In the first place the demand for energy has been substantial increased as various industries develop rapidly. Moreover the population growth is another factor. As the time elapses the increasing number of population has required more energy for living and working and other areas. Last but not least wasting energy is a great serious and common phenomenon all the time.  

In order to solve the problem all of us should go into action together. For one thing we should try our best to find out the renewable energy to replace the energy that we consumed most. For another everyone should develop the concept that energy is limited and we have to form a habit to save energy. And we can save energy in our lives by starting from small details such as turn off the light when leaving.  

In a word energy shortage has been a big and serious problem in the world. Therefore we should make our efforts to solve it by finding new renewable energy and saving energy and any other possible ways.    

随着经济和社会的快速发展，出现了一系列问题，给我们的生活造成一定的负面影响。其中资源短缺是当今世界最严峻的问题之一。    

资源短缺的原因很多。首先，各行各业的迅速发展对资源的需求猛增。另一个原因是人口增长。随着时代的发展，越来越多的人口需要更多的资源以满足生活，工作以及占地的需求。最后还有重要的一点是，资源浪费现象一直非常严重而普遍。     

为了解决这一问题，我们大家应该行动起来。一方面，应当想法找到可再生能源，以取代消耗最大的能量。另一方面，每个人都应该树立能源有限的概念。我们必须养成节约能源的习惯。我们还可以从生活中的小事做起，比如离开时关灯，以节约能源。 总之，资源短缺已成为世界的一个重大问题。因此，我们应该努力，通过寻找新的可再生能源，节约能源以及其他任何可行的方法来解决这个问题。

7Save the Energy Resources

Another round of energy crisis is knocking at the door. In 2004 world oil consumption reached a new record causing oil price in the international market to skyrocket amazingly. As for China it was reported that many traditional mineral cities in northeastern China had run into predicament with their economy collapsed and workers unemployed only because coal had been mined out.

Fossil energy resources including coal oil and gas are unlike sunlight water power and wind power which are generated consistently. They're not practically reproductive during human history. Once consumed they're gone forever. If they were to be exhausted before we could find sufficient reproductive resources to replace them with we'd have to live in entire blackout again like our ancestors have done thousands of years ago. That's of course not what anyone would want to see.

Due to technical limitations people still have to utilize these resources now.

As a result we must economize them most cleverly. New techniques should be developed and applied to reduce energy cost in industry and daily life. Alternative energy should be employed wherever possible. Eradicate any practice that wastes energy. Humans have overcome so many crises in history and we're sure to win this time also.

8How to Solve the Energy Problem

Energy is one of the biggest problems people are faced with today. If we keep consuming them at the present rate a serious energy crisis is sure to threaten mankind's survival in the future since natural resources are limited.

Many people have expressed their demands for more severe conservation of our natural resources. This is urgently necessary indeed. It must be realized that much of our energy in the form of oil coal or gas has been wasted. If things go on like this we will leave our descendants a devastated world a vast stretch of waste land. So from now on we will have to make serious efforts to develop energy-saving economy so as to slow down the present drain on our limited resources.

But conservation alone is not all the answer. The best way to solve the energy problem is I think to develop new sources of energy. It is obvious that even if we save much energy by using it carefully our natural resources however abundant will run out ultimately for resources can not reproduce themselves. Therefore to find new supplies in unexplored areas seems to be the only way out.

能源是人们面临的最大问题之一。如果我们保持现在的消费速度一个严重的能源危机肯定会威胁人类的生存在未来因为自然资源是有限的。

许多人表达了他们的要求更严重的保护我们的自然资源。这是迫切需要。必须意识到我们的能源形式的石油、煤炭或天然气浪费了。如果事情继续这样下去我们将把我们的后代一个毁坏了的世界一个巨大的浪费土地。所以从现在起我们将不得不做出努力发展节能经济以减缓目前消耗我们有限的资源。

但保护本身并不是所有问题的答案。解决能源问题的最好方法是我认为开发新能源。很明显即使我们节省多少能源通过使用仔细我们的自然资源然而丰富最终将耗尽资源不能复制自己。因此寻找新的供应未开发的领域似乎是唯一的出路。
