The movie Pirates of Carribean is very popular around the world the latest series presents the audience the beautiful creature of mermaid.

In people’s eyes the image of mermaid presents beauty and kindness because we have read the story Little Mermaid. The heroine sacrifices herself to save her love. But in modern movie mermaid presents the evil thing who will sing a song to seduce people and then eat them.

It is so differen from what we have learned from the fairy tales. The meaning of this word is the monster in the water so mermaid actually is not something beautiful but evil. It is indeed has the attractive appearance while with bad heart.

The story goes like this: There once lived the sea king and his family in a palace. The sea king had six daughters including a mermaid princess. On her fifteenth birthday the little mermaid rose up to the surface of the sea. The little mermaid swam over to the prince and took him by his head and brought him to the seashore. At last a young girl came by. Just then the prince came to life. From then she longed to become a human being so that she could stay with the prince. But the prince will marry the girl who “saved” him. In order to become a human being the mermaid took the medicine the witch gave to her. Finally the mermaid and the prince got together.

Little mermaid moved me because she suffered great pain to become a human being. She would rather sacrifice herself to pursue her love. Although she died in the end she had no regret.

In Denmark’s fairy tale mermaid is the symbol of beauty kindness and pureness. The story of little mermaid moves people she sacrifices herself and saves the prince. But in the modern movies mermaid subverts people’s recognition it is the symbol of evil. In the movie the mermaids are still beautiful outside and they use their faces and beautiful voice to lure the human beings. When people get close to them they will change their faces and eat them.

What’s the mermaid’s real face angle or evil？We don’t know it has the different faces among different people. Mermaid lives in the fairy tale for kids they just need to believe in its beautiful sides.
